Pharmacy Technician Trainee / Certified Pharmacy Technician – Evening Shift
Location: Mechanicsville, VA
Pay Rate:
• Pharmacy Technician Trainee: $16.50/hour
• Licensed/Certified Pharmacy Technician: $17.50/hour
Schedule:
Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
3:30 PM – 1:30 AM
Job Summary
We are seeking motivated Pharmacy Technician Trainees and Certified Pharmacy Technicians to join a fast-paced pharmacy fulfillment team. In this role, you will support the preparation and distribution of prescription medications while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with pharmacy regulations.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in a high-volume pharmacy environment while working a consistent evening schedule.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and fulfill prescription medications using pharmacy fulfillment systems
• Process prescription exceptions and resolve claim rejections
• Enter member demographics and prescription information accurately into pharmacy systems
• Research and resolve insurance billing issues and escalated member concerns
• Communicate with patients, physicians, and healthcare providers as needed
• Escalate prescription-related questions to a Pharmacist for review and interpretation
• Assist with inbound and outbound phone calls
• Maintain accuracy and productivity standards in a fast-paced environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration and/or certification required as mandated by state regulations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer and data-entry skills
• Ability to work in a production-driven environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Experience processing insurance claims and resolving claim rejections
• Experience working in retail, mail-order, specialty, or fulfillment pharmacy settings
• Familiarity with pharmacy management systems
