Job Description:
This is a Safety Sensitive role with a Temp-to-Hire Opportunity. The Pharmacy Technician II will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to prepare, package, and ship medications and supplies to patients. The role also involves record-keeping, inventory control, sterile compounding, and maintaining the pharmacy clean room suite according to USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
Pharmacy Technician II Schedule & Location:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: Mendota Heights, MN
Pharmacy Technician II Salary/Wage:
- Hourly Rate: $17.26/hr
Pharmacy Technician II Duties:
- Prepare and package medication and supplies under pharmacist supervision.
- Perform record-keeping and assist with inventory control.
- Select, pick, package, and label medications per prescriptions.
- Follow sanitization and hazardous medication handling procedures.
- Compound sterile products and maintain clean room suite compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
- Clean and maintain the clean room suite, including surfaces and equipment.
- Document IV admixtures and sterility testing for the clean room.
- Maintain inventory management records, including labels, log sheets, and reports.
- Accurately count medications using manual and automated processes.
- Prepare and restock pharmacy rooms as needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Pharmacy Technician II Required Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Minnesota.
- At least 1 year of experience in a pharmacy technician role, with experience compounding IV admixtures.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (preferred).
- Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet utilization.
- Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal).
Pharmacy Technician II Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, bending, and occasional lifting.
- Must adhere to strict safety protocols related to handling hazardous medications and maintaining the clean room.
Pharmacy Technician II Education:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
