Pharmacy Technician Compensation
- The pay for this position is $17-$19 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Pharmacy Technician Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is
- 2 Temps for 11-7:30pm rotating, every other weekend.
- 1 Temp for 7-3:30pm rotating, every other weekend.
- 1-Staging Technician: 10-6:30pm, rotating weekends
- 2- Fill Technicians: 7-3:30pm, rotating weekends
- 1-Overnight Fill Technician: Tues-Saturday 10pm to 6:30am
Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities
- OVERVIEW
The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist's verification. Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well-organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre-pack racks)
- Accuracy check of final preparation prior to presenting to pharmacist
- Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose of per procedure
- Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume times
- Package materials and products manually
- Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
- Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift
- Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly
- Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
- Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
- Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs
Pharmacy Technician Requirements
- QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
- Previous pharmacy experience required (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred)
- Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Able to work at a moderate speed
- Able to work during inclement weather
- Reliable
- Good organization/Attention to detail
- Analytical/Problem solver
- Able to physically perform light lifting
- Must be able to work various shifts and days
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that should be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: - May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, crawl intermittently
