Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. This role involves practicing advanced patient care, providing diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and preventive services under the supervision of a licensed physician. The PA will assess patients, develop treatment plans, analyze test results, and perform procedures as necessary to support optimal health outcomes. This position will require work in both inpatient and outpatient settings and plays a critical role in delivering exceptional care as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
People - 25%
- Serve as a clinical resource, interprofessional consultant, and patient advocate.
- Participate in rounding, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient care planning as appropriate.
- Act as a role model and mentor to staff, facilitating positive communication and teamwork.
- Precept Physician Assistant students and medical residents as needed.
- Coordinate timely and appropriate patient care with healthcare providers and ancillary clinicians.
- Enhance patient satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and addressing patient concerns promptly.
- Perform independent or delegated tasks, including diagnosis, prescribing, and treatment under the guidance of protocols and practice guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate test results, identify abnormalities, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, develop care plans, and ensure safe, quality outcomes for patients.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including diagnoses and coding.
- Support department financial targets through efficiency, reduced length of stay, and optimized resource utilization.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions to improve patient care and department operations.
- Engage in research, presentations, and publications, and mentor others in expanding their professional knowledge and skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (NCCPA certified).
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.
- Licensed and credentialed by the Texas Board of Physician Assistants.
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Prescriptive authority privileges in Texas.
- DEA registration (within six months of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English (spoken, written, and reading).
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain organized workflows.
- Proficient in time management and maintaining accountability for patient outcomes.
- Attire: Scrubs, business professional, or other department-approved attire.
- On-Call: Yes, regularly scheduled.
- Travel: May require travel within and outside the metropolitan area as necessary.
