Job Description:
The Plant Operations Manager will lead and oversee the daily operations at the facility, ensuring efficient production, maintaining equipment, and enforcing safety, quality, and environmental standards. This role involves workforce supervision, long-term project planning, and collaboration with multiple departments to meet company objectives.
Plant Operations Manager Schedule & Location:
- Schedule: Structured work hours.
- Location: Ottawa, IL, United States.
Plant Operations Manager Salary/Wage:
- $130,000 - $190,000 per year (based on experience), plus bonus potential up to 20%.
Plant Operations Manager Duties:
- Guide and direct the workforce to achieve safety, operational, and quality goals.
- Ensure proper operation of stationary and mobile equipment in accordance with best practices.
- Collaborate with maintenance to plan and schedule production activities.
- Implement and maintain quality, safety, and environmental programs, including training and audits.
- Manage budgets, long-term projects, and operational schedules.
- Perform administrative duties such as planning, reporting, and budget management.
- Assist in the development and execution of capital and annual budget plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Plant Operations Manager Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or process engineering OR significant experience in operations supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong background in operational planning software (e.g., JD Edwards).
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Plant Operations Manager Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery, dust, and noise.
- May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
Plant Operations Manager Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, process) OR equivalent experience.
