Job Description

Title: PowerBuilder Developer

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)

Note: This role is NOT open to C2C or 3rd party candidates

The PowerBuilder Developer will support software development projects for new and existing PowerBuilder applications.

Position Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in PowerBuilder Development (version 2017 and up) – Experience researching and modifying PowerBuilder source code to document steps applications use with data
  • 10+ years of experience in T-SQL Query Writing – Must have a high level of SQL query writing skills to write complex queries to pull data from a Sybase and MS SQL Server database, as well as experience developing processes to extract and manipulate data to support data migration and data cleansing of application data
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Management – Must have experience performing data profiling, data mapping, data manipulation, validation, and analysis
  • 10+ years of experience in Unit Testing – Must have experience documenting and performing unit testing to support program changes
  • 10+ years of experience in Documentation Management – creating, updating, and maintaining documentation for programs, testing, system specs, and flow diagrams
  • 5+ years of experience in Source Control – Experience working with other Developers utilizing source control
  • 5+ years of experience in Unit Testing – With the ability to work with the client and/or Business Analysts to support test scenarios
  • 5+ years of experience in Production Support – Experience analyzing and documenting identified problems to determine root cause and provide root cause analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in Change Management – Following change management procedures and providing input to execute changes
  • 5+ years of experience in Requirement Gathering – With the capability of working with clients to gather requirements and ensure functionality meets the needs of the agency
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and capability of quickly picking up and deciphering code, with minimal guidance
  • A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline preferred
