PAYROLL SPECIALIST | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Louisville KY 40222 – 100% On-site
- Payrate: $21/hr
- Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
PAYROLL SPECIALIST | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Payroll Specialist will support payroll operations for a large, multi-state organization. This role is part of a collaborative payroll team responsible for processing payroll for a high-volume employee population across multiple regions. The ideal candidate brings strong data entry skills, payroll system experience, and a customer-service-first mindset.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
PAYROLL SPECIALIST | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls
- Enter and maintain employee payroll data and system updates
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Prepare payroll reports, manual checks, and stop payments
- Ensure payroll accuracy through audits, data analysis, and reconciliation
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Provide timely customer service support via phone and email
- Collaborate with payroll team members to maintain operational efficiency
- Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
PAYROLL SPECIALIST | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable) required; Associate’s Degree or technical training preferred
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- 1+ years of payroll, data entry, or administrative experience preferred
- Experience using payroll systems such as ADP and/or Kronos preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize workload
