Job Description
Title: Project Manager III
Location: Lansing, MI (2-days onsite, 3-days remote Hybrid schedule)
Note: This is a W2 contract position; C2C and 3rd party candidates will NOT be considered
The Project Manager will design, plan, and coordinate work teams. Following standard project management industry practices such as the PMI framework, they will understand business and technical objectives of a project and work closely with a project sponsor to create project charters, work plans, and track budgets and schedule progress via appropriate metrics. They will provide overall direction to the formulation, development, implementation, and delivery of a project, exercising management responsibility over the achievement of performance, revenue, and profit objectives of a project and its contracts. They will ensure that project plans maintain tasks, schedules, estimates, and statuses, and disseminates information to team members and customers.
The Project Manager will create a structure and organization for the management of a complex environment, with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency. They will be responsible for directing corrective actions in any area where performance falls below objectives. They will arrange for the assignment of responsibility to other supporting facilities, business areas, and support functions, and monitor their performance. The Project Manager will also;
- Establish project organization and methodologies and define roles and responsibilities
- Document risks and develop mitigation plans
- Create and implement communication plans
- Build an effective team, assigning tasks to team members, and evaluating outcomes
- Negotiate resources and communicate statuses to stakeholders and the project sponsor
- Identify, track, and ensure the resolution of issues and the removal of barriers
- Provide technical support to project team members
- Handle complex application features and technical designs, including designing and implementing components required for complex application features
- Manages a group of applications system analysts
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Job Qualifications:
- 5+ Years of recent Project Management experience in large, complex, enterprise-governed IT environments
- 3+ years of RFS and RFP experience, including experience handling multiple vendors
- 3+ Years of Azure Dev Ops experience
- 3+ Years of Clarity experience, or experience with other PM tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Solid critical thinking/problem-solving skills
- Collaborative, open-minded worker
- 5+ Years of Agile environment experience highly desired
- Experience delivering $10 million+ projects highly desired
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology; Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification highly desired
