3rd Shift | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
40 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Psych Registered Nurses (Psych RN) for an urgent need at Connecticut Valley Hospital (CVH), operated by DMHAS. This role is within the Psych Division, and candidates must have prior psychiatric nursing experience.
The RN will provide high-quality, trauma-informed, gender-responsive care to individuals receiving behavioral health treatment in an inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct psychiatric nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor mental health status
- Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital policies
- Support trauma-informed and recovery-oriented treatment practices
Schedule Details
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 40 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut
- Psychiatric nursing experience (Psych RN required)
- Experience in inpatient behavioral health settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills
