Title: Sr. Python Developer

 

Location: Work from Home

 

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00AM – 5:00PM EST

 

Note: This is a W2 contract position – C2C & 3rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered

 

The Sr. Python Developer is responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions using Python to enable Customer Experience applications. They are responsible for documentation of the system, conducting unit tests and peer code reviews, maintaining internally developed applications, and conducting evaluation and performance testing of purchased products. They are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application.

 

Position Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong design and coding skills in Python
  • Strong, demonstrated experience using Elastic Search in Java (back-end Spring Boot)
  • Excellent understanding of RESTful Architecture style; demonstrated experience developing REST APIs and processing batch files using Python
  • Advanced SQL scripting/querying skills; experience with database technologies, such as SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, dBase, and/or MS Access
  • Experience working with/analyzing/managing very large data sets (1+ million records)
  • Proficiency using standard desktop applications, such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio
  • Demonstrated experience developing scheduling of batch processes
  • Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding design, and documentation protocol, as well as change management procedures
  • In-depth understanding of the systems development lifecycle
  • Ability to take a methodical approach to evaluate various libraries with pros and cons to meet business and technical requirements
  • A technical curiosity and willingness to learn (ask questions, learns processes, etc.); ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy; ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible team player ability and ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments
  • Demonstrated initiative and effective independent decision-making skills; ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies preferred
  • Healthcare or Financial industry experience preferred
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field
