Job Purpose

The Quality Manager is the leading Quality Management authority for the site, responsible for instituting, maintaining, monitoring, auditing,
and improving quality management practices and procedures to ensure the quality of goods being produced. This includes analyzing
specifications and statistical data to develop procedures to meet both internal and external expectations to ensure internal processes and
metrics are aligned to create the highest product quality. This position will lead efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating
opportunities in quality improvements and cost savings. Will also facilitate the qualification process for alternative sources of supply as they
relate to our supply chain. Mentor personnel in the use of statistics, customer requirements and advanced quality systems, plus identifying,
and removing waste to reduce the total cost of quality. Performs all other duties as requested.

The Quality Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at MGS Morristown, with a functional dotted line to the Regional Quality Director
of Americas.

Job Responsibilities
  • Hold monthly quality meetings (one hour max. on average) involving all lab technicians. Reviewing progress of KPI’s, standardization
    activities (i.e., use of C-Pro, standardized system procedures, etc.), customer complaints, supplier issues, CA status of NCMR’s, etc
  • Registrations – Maintain good relations with the company’s registrar LRQA and representation of the facility as Management
    Representative, managing the company’s certifications with the EH&S North America Manager
  • Quality Manuals – Ensure that the site combined system manual is maintain and kept current through applicable revisions when needed
  • C-Pro (e-QMS) – Continue to support and direct the effective execution of Compliant-Pro for all aspects of Document Control, SCAR’s,
    Audits, NCMR’s, CAR’s, Customer Complaints and Temporary work instructions, taking direction from Global
  • Performance Audits – Plan yearly audit plans for internal and select suppliers working with Plant Manager and Purchasing Manager on
    high risk suppliers or new business process. Provide reports and follow up on findings
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) – Assure the effective implementation, maintenance, and on-time reporting of MGS KPI’s biweekly and
    monthly
  • Sales Interaction – Promote the company image and detect issues in need of improvement (e.g., attend sales meetings and solicit
    feedback when needed)
  • Customer Contact - Interact with key customers as required (i.e., listen to their concerns and follow-up, promote the company, and
    coordinate agreements on quality matters)
  • Cost Control - Recommend/initiate cost control measures through operational efficiencies and improvement efforts.
    •Budgets – Support and assist in annual budgets for MGS Lab activities
  • Travel – Travel to suppliers for audits, and quarterly supplier reviews
  • Responsible for working within the Operations and QA functions throughout MPS (Global, Regional, and Facility levels). The position interacts with R&D, Operations, Technical, and Admin functions of all MPS Businesses within
  • This position has many direct interactions with outside external organizations and functions such as customers, LRQA, Suppliers/Vendors, etc
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining, developing an ongoing performance plan, and appraising the
    performance of all direct and functional reports
  • Addressing employee inquiries, complaints and resolving problems by using appropriate resources/other departments to achieve
    results/answers
  • Leads, motivates, and develops personnel
  • The Quality Manager must maintain good business relationships with leadership of the various regional and global locations and assist in
    developing and executing plans to achieve goals

Requirements
  • Membership in professional Quality Assurance Organization(s) preferred.
  • Certification as a Quality Manager (CQM), Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Quality Auditor (CQA) is preferred, including lead auditor training for ISO 9001:2015
  • 5 years minimum managerial experience in Quality 
  • Knowledge of quality systems, comfortable with change management, experience in SOP development and implementation 

Education
  • Four-year Business or Technical Degree or equivalent
