R&D Process Development Technician – Medical Devices
Location: Onsite
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Process Development Technician to support R&D engineers in the development and testing of medical device processes. This role will focus on process optimization, product builds, testing, and data analysis while ensuring compliance with GMP and Quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Testing:
- Assist in building product parts and prototypes for engineering evaluation, validation, and clinical studies.
- Support process development for new and existing medical devices, including tooling and equipment improvements.
- Execute test methods, collect data, analyze results, and present findings in a reportable format.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Assist in preparing and implementing work instructions, SOPs, technical reports, and test protocols.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, QSR, and ISO regulations.
- Provide training on process and test methods to manufacturing and QA personnel.
Inventory & Equipment Management:
- Generate purchase orders, coordinate orders and deliveries, and manage R&D stock.
- Coordinate material shipping/receiving and prepare commercial invoices.
- Obtain quotes for testing and calibration.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum High School Diploma/GED (Associate of Science in a technical discipline preferred)
0-3 years of experience in R&D or process development (medical device or regulated FDA/QSR/ISO environment preferred)
Basic math/statistics skills
Ability to follow instructions, collect data, and record results
Basic computer skills (MS Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience working in a laboratory or cleanroom environment is a plus
Ability to operate lab equipment and assist in validations
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/tools, and communicate verbally.
- Occasional reaching, kneeling, or crouching.
- Work is performed in an open cubicle environment and controlled lab spaces.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
