Job Description:
- Patient Safety Officer RN in acute care hospital setting.
- Attend national safety goal monitoring committees and nursing committees such as falls and medication safety.
- Conduct chart reviews and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop patient safety programs and initiatives, monitoring procedures for reporting safety hazards, accidents, incidents, and significant events.
- Promote learning by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward.
- Listen, respond to, and address performance feedback; provide actionable feedback to others.
- Practice self-leadership; create and execute plans to capitalize on strengths and improve opportunity areas.
- Adapt to competing demands and new responsibilities.
- Model team collaboration within and across teams.
- Conduct or oversee business-specific projects by applying deep expertise in subject area.
- Partner internally and externally to make effective business decisions.
- Develop work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines.
- Recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement data collection and analyses to support quality improvement efforts.
- Support in-depth quality improvement and risk management efforts.
- Investigate opportunities to develop new and improve current quality improvement performance metrics.
- Facilitate the development of quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for quality improvement processes and regulations.
- Develop stakeholder development and quality performance review processes.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with databases and spreadsheets or continuous quality improvement (CQI) tools.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in clinical setting, health care administration, or a directly related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
- Registered Nurse License (California) or equivalent licenses.
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Occupational Therapist License (California)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California)
- Physical Therapist License (California)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California)
- Speech-Language Pathologist License (California)
- Pharmacist License (California)
- Doctor of Medicine License (California)
- Leadership experience, quality and safety, and performance improvement.
- Patient Safety Officer experience.
