- $98,000 - $147,000

Position Summary
The Senior Radiation Therapist provides advanced technical expertise in the safe, accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions and established clinical protocols. This role collaborates closely with physicians, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care, treatment precision, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate radiation therapy equipment and CT simulators to deliver prescribed treatments with precision
- Interpret and implement complex computerized treatment plans and physician prescriptions
- Maintain complete and accurate electronic treatment records (e-charts), documentation, and charges
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and institutional quality standards
- Monitor patient condition during treatment and escalate concerns to appropriate clinical staff
- Assist with equipment quality assurance, calibration, and performance monitoring
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a science-related field or graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiation Therapy program
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a Radiation Therapist
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
- Texas Medical Board licensure in Medical Radiologic Technology
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Varian equipment
- CT certification
- Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of radiation oncology, anatomy, radiobiology, and radiation physics
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical judgment
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary environment
Work Environment
- Ambulatory clinic connected to a hospital setting
- Exposure to ionizing radiation, hazardous medications, and clinical environments (minimal radiation exposure)
- Requires lifting, positioning, and assisting patients
- On-call coverage required on a rotating basis, including emergency events
Travel
- Occasional travel within the Houston Southeast region as needed
