Radiation and Imaging Director Compensation
- The salary range for this position is $142,879 – $192,864 annually
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Radiation and Imaging Director Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is full-time, standard business hours with occasional travel within the service area (air or automobile)
Radiation and Imaging Director Responsibilities
- Oversee radiation and imaging operations across multiple practice locations
- Develop and implement organizational structure, policies, and operational strategies
- Monitor, analyze, and report on performance, capacity, staffing, and financial metrics
- Prepare management reports to support operational and clinical decision-making
- Supervise radiation and imaging staff directly or indirectly across all sites
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels, coverage, and workforce planning within budget
- Establish and maintain radiation oncology and diagnostic imaging policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with accreditation bodies (ACR, ACMP, AAPM, JCAHO, OSHA) and regulatory requirements
- Oversee quality assurance (QA/QI) programs, including chart and dosimetry review
- Support physician leadership and committees related to quality and compliance
- Direct hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of staff
- Develop performance expectations and conduct evaluations for radiation/imaging teams
- Coordinate staff training and continuing education on new technologies and practices
- Ensure proper licensure, certification, and competency of all staff members
- Manage budgeting, financial planning, and cost controls for departments
- Oversee equipment and supply ordering to ensure operational readiness
- Ensure proper documentation, billing accuracy, and compliance with reimbursement guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to maintain teamwork and operational alignment
- Support long-term strategic planning and execution of departmental goals
Radiation and Imaging Director Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited radiation therapy technology program
- Minimum of 7 years of radiation experience
- At least 2 years of experience actively practicing as an RTT or dosimetrist
- At least 5 years of managerial and/or administrative experience
- ARRT certification required
- Valid state licensure preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Radiation and Imaging Director Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Medical Dosimetry certificate (preferred, not required)
- Experience managing multi-site radiation or imaging operations
- Strong background in budgeting, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Experience working with QA/QI programs and accreditation bodies
