Radiology Technician (Radiology Tech) Duties

• Explaining Procedures: Radiology techs explain imaging procedures to patients, ensuring they understand the process, addressing any concerns, and answering questions.
• Positioning Patients: Ensuring patients are positioned correctly for the imaging procedure to obtain high-quality images. Proper positioning helps avoid repeat images and ensures diagnostic accuracy.
• Comfort and Support: Helping patients feel comfortable and at ease, especially during potentially stressful or uncomfortable procedures.
• Screening for Contraindications: Verifying patient history for any conditions that might make certain imaging procedures unsafe
• Setting up Equipment: Preparing and adjusting imaging machines according to the specific procedure and the patient's needs.
• Adjusting Settings: Adjusting exposure settings, radiation doses, and other machine parameters to ensure high-quality images while minimizing patient radiation exposure.
• Capturing Diagnostic Images: Operating the equipment to capture images of the area of interest, ensuring proper angles and image clarity.
• Maintaining Equipment: Performing routine checks and maintenance on imaging equipment to ensure proper functioning, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Organizing Patient Records: Accurately documenting patient information, the type of imaging performed, and the images captured in the hospital’s record-keeping systems.
• Uploading and Storing Images: Storing images in digital formats for easy access by radiologists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintaining Confidentiality: Ensuring patient confidentiality and security of imaging data in compliance with regulations like HIPAA

Radiology Technician (Radiology Tech) Requirements
·  Graduate of Accredited Radiography School
·  Pennsylvania State RT License
·  ARRT 
·  BLS Certified
·  Minimum 1 year experience required
