Job Title: Radiology Technologist-General Address: Troy, MI Schedule: 2nd Shift: M–F, Every Other Weekend, 3:00pm – 11:30pm (Full Time) Midnight Shift: M–F, Every Other Weekend, 11:00pm – 7:30am or 9:00pm – 7:30am (Full Time) Job Description:
  • Performs quality diagnostic exams after verification of patient identification and physician order.
  • Acquires an accurate patient history and documents in the medical record.
  • Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Performs radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical ability and/or limitations.
  • Ensures STAT requests are relayed to radiologist in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicates on an inter/intra-department level with customer service, administrative, medical staff, and peers.
  • Demonstrates ability to proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follows policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures.
  • Utilizes ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patient, staff, and self.
  • Provides procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam.
  • Contributes to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
  • Assists in the training of students/new hires.
  • Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
  • Maintains competency in all assigned areas including, but not limited to fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.
Critical Information:
  • Required Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
  • CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist 180 Days required.
  • CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required.
