Registered Nurse (RN) – Corrections / Institutional
Compensation
- $53/hour -weekly pay
Schedule
- Shift: 2nd Shift
- Hours: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
- Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend required
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive patient care. This role involves working with diverse populations including inmates, juvenile offenders, or patients in an institutional healthcare setting. The RN will deliver direct patient care, respond to emergencies, and support overall facility health operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care including assessment, treatment, and medication administration
- Monitor patient conditions, document progress, and maintain accurate medical records
- Conduct nursing rounds and record vital signs
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate hospital transfers when needed
- Monitor restricted or isolated patients at required intervals
- Administer specialized treatments (IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, CPR, catheterization, phlebotomy, etc.)
- Support and guide healthcare staff during assigned shifts
- Assist physicians with evaluations and procedures
- Maintain inventory of medications, including controlled substances
- Complete required reports (incident, accident, and medical documentation)
- Participate in staff training and onboarding
Work Environment & Requirements
- Secure facility environment
- Must pass through a metal detector daily
- Clear bags only permitted
- No personal metal items (including utensils, mugs, or tumblers)
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – State of Ohio required
- Current CPR certification (Healthcare Provider level)
- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a structured, security-focused environment
