Location: Grand Rapids, MI 49548

Overview:

Sign-On Bonus: $8,000 - $12,000!

Hourly Rate:

  • Base Rate: $28.90 - $41.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Shift Differentials:
    • 7am-3pm: Saturday & Sunday - $1.25 extra per hour
    • 3pm-11pm: Monday - Thursday - $2.00 extra per hour
    • 3pm-11pm: Friday - Sunday - $3.00 extra per hour
    • 11pm-7am: Monday - Thursday - $4.00 extra per hour
    • 11pm-7am: Friday - Sunday - $5.00 extra per hour

Shift Options:

  • 12-Hour Shifts: 7:00am-7:00pm & 7:00pm-7:00am
  • 8-Hour Shifts:
    • 2nd Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm
    • 3rd Shift: 11:00pm-7:30am

Available Shifts & Units:

  • Youth Populations
  • High-Acuity Adult Populations
  • Older Adult Populations
  • Full-Time Night, Evening, and Day shifts available (32-36 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

As a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health, you will:

  • Assess and Plan Care: Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and adjust plans based on patient progress.
  • Nursing Care Coordination: Provide and coordinate care in collaboration with physicians, and educate patients and families on care plans and aftercare needs.
  • Patient Safety: Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff while monitoring for any potential risks.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all care activities, assessments, and patient progress in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Deliver compassionate care to patients, focusing on individual needs in both individual and group settings.
  • Staff Leadership: Function as a clinical leader, providing guidance to other staff and promoting professional development.
  • Recovery-Focused Approach: Support a person-centered, recovery-focused environment that emphasizes mental, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Education and Training: May provide training and guidance to direct care staff and assist with overseeing medication and physical health activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May serve as a Charge Nurse, providing leadership and direction for other nursing and support staff.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires the ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and moving patients, as well as the capacity to manage varying workloads depending on the population being served.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN): Must have a valid Michigan RN license
  • Experience: Prior experience in behavioral health or mental health settings is preferred, but not required.
  • Compassionate Care: Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
