Registered Nurse Job description:

Dedicated overnight nurse for a youth psychiatric facility with patient ages ranging from 13yrs. To 17yrs. Three-month contract position with possibility of contract to hire.

 

Registered Nurse Schedule & location:

  • M-W 10pm-8am
  • every other Sat-Sun 10p-8a
  • Waco TX 76708-2007 United States

Registered Nurse Salary/Wage:

  • 40.00$/hr – 50.00$/hr

Registered Nurse Duties:

  • Performs routine nursing work.
  • Work involves providing for the assessment, care, and treatment of patients.
  • May train others. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • May assign nursing responsibilities to the Unit LVN in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
  • The responsibility of the Unit RN is to provide for and supervise the professional nursing care of the individuals who reside in a state hospital setting.
  • The Unit RN is available to unit personnel to make nursing decisions on a 24- hour basis.
  • She/he is a member of the professional team and shares responsibility with other team members for the development of the individual’s program.
  • Work involves communication skills, i.e. relaying information to other team members, physicians, nurses; data entry, documentation, completing reports, maintaining personnel records, supervisory duties, and following all facility rules/policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Nurse Executive and/or Assistant Nurse Executive.

Registered Nurse Required Qualification

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse and able to practice in the State of Texas
  • Prefer 2+ years as a direct care nurse.
  • Prefer some experience in direct client care in a psychiatric type setting.
  • Experience needs to be hospital acute care, LTC, community clinics, public health, etc. (not Home Health or School Nurse)
  • Must have valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification (BLS)
  • Must have negative PPD results within last 12 months.
  • Flu Vaccination record if taken.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check.

Registered Nurse Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from a accredited school of nursing.
