Registered Nurse (RN) Highlights

Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessments, development and implementation of care plans, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Ensure patient care and safety always remain top priorities.
- Adhere to Coosa Valley Medical Center's (CVMC) attendance and appearance guidelines.
- Serve as a resource and role model to care partners and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain and communicate clear directions and expectations for the care team.
- Promote quality patient care by adhering to clinical standards and hospital policies, including risk management, infection control, and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, physicians, and patients/families, ensuring coordination of care.
- Recognize physician satisfaction as a priority and work to proactively promote it.
- Maintain and monitor the physical environment for safety and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate leadership in delegating responsibilities and prioritizing tasks.
- Participate in the development of personal and professional goals for ongoing career development.
- Manage staffing and supply levels to reduce waste and ensure efficient use of resources.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.
- 1 to 3 months of orientation to acquire necessary familiarity with unit policies and clinical guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including assessment and planning activities.
- Ability to synthesize information and apply technical expertise for patient care.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time during shifts.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
