Remote Behavioral Services Consultant – Autism & Developmental Support

Position Title: Remote Behavioral Services Consultant – Autism & Developmental Support
Type of Position: Full-Time
Hours per Week: 37.5 hours/week (7.5 hours/day, Monday–Friday)
Location: Harrisburg Office (Full-time remote work with one in-person day per month required; travel is required to Harrisburg, can live anywhere in Pennsylvania)

Payrate: $26.00 an hour

Education & Experience:

  • Option 1: Master’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field with an emphasis on behavioral supports and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in service delivery systems for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other co-occurring developmental disabilities.
  • OR
  • Option 2: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field with an emphasis on behavioral supports and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in similar service delivery systems.Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, data visualization tools, and online platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS), cognitive-behavioral methods, and mental health treatment theories
  • Familiarity with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania service delivery systems for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities

The Behavioral Analyst will report to the BSASP Director of Clinical Services and will serve as a consultant performing the following duties:

System-Wide Collaboration and Capacity Building:

  • Collaborate with state systems and government agencies on autism and developmental disability issues
  • Assess statewide needs for children and adult service systems
  • Support provider agencies in implementing ODP trainings, protocols, and regulations
  • Perform Functional Behavioral Assessments for high-risk individuals in state-run facilities

Case Consultation and Clinical Support:

  • Provide consultation for complex cases with the Bureau of Community Services
  • Recommend clinical strategies for community teams managing high-needs individuals
  • Contribute to interdepartmental meetings and collaborative planning sessions

Quality Assurance and Program Monitoring:

  • Conduct annual quality reviews for AAW and ACAP participants, including:
  • Individual Support Plans
  • Skill Building Plans and Progress Notes
  • Behavior Support and Crisis Intervention Plans
  • Functional Behavioral Assessments and Risk Evaluations

Training Development and Delivery:

  • Develop and deliver training content for monthly capacity building, seminars, and conferences
  • Author and review training materials such as manuals, e-learning modules, tools, and policy documents
  • Support development of training standards and review provider qualification materials

Clinical Oversight and Regional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with BSASP regional reps to manage caseloads and oversee complex cases
  • Ensure high standards of care in AAW and ACAP programs, with clinical input on behavior and support plans
  • Conduct research and consultation on best practices in Positive Behavioral Supports

Pennsylvania Autism Surveillance Project (PASP):

  • Abstract data as assigned by PASP Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator
  • Meet required QAQC metrics for abstraction accuracy and consistency
  • Participate in scheduled PASP and CDC calls, and attend in-person meetings and site visits
