Job Description:
The Remote Oncology Triage Nurse will provide telephonic triage services, assess patient needs, and collaborate with qualified staff for appropriate care. This role ensures adherence to compliance programs and business ethics standards.

Remote Oncology Triage Nurse Schedule & Location:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Central Time
Location: Fully remote but must reside in the greater Houston area
On-site requirement: Must attend occasional in-person meetings and training at a designated office in Woodlands, TX

Remote Oncology Triage Nurse Salary/Wage:
$40.00 per hour

Remote Oncology Triage Nurse Duties:

  • Provide telephonic triage services for oncology patients
  • Document all patient interactions and care elements in the medical record
  • Assess patient needs and collaborate with healthcare professionals for appropriate care
  • Ensure compliance with relevant compliance programs and business ethics standards
  • Utilize electronic health record systems and telecommunication tools efficiently

Remote Oncology Triage Nurse Required Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted RN license in Texas or another compact state
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 2 years in oncology
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification required within 1 year of hire
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience in telephonic triage or remote patient care is strongly preferred

Remote Oncology Triage Nurse Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing telephonic patient assessments
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work

Remote Oncology Triage Nurse Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Oncology certification required (or must be obtained within 1 year)
