Remote Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization
Pay: $21.67/hour
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (W2)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Shift: CST 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Location: Remote (Nationwide)
Position Overview
We’re hiring a Remote Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization to support a clinical pharmacy hub by managing prior authorization (PA) requests and helping resolve coverage/claim denials. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong follow-through, and comfort communicating with pharmacies, providers, and health plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prior authorizations and therapeutic interchange support.
- Initiate, complete, and track prior authorization forms with accurate documentation and clinical justification details.
- Contact insurance plans to determine reasons for payment/claim denials and document outcomes.
- Communicate PA status updates to internal teams and external partners (pharmacists, facilities, physicians, PDPs).
- Work within eMAR systems and related tools to support PA completion and documentation.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Prior experience with Rx prior authorizations strongly preferred.
- Must have an active Pharmacy Technician license in your state of residence (required).
