Prior Authorizations Pharmacist Compensation:

• Pay rate: $53 per hour

• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Prior Authorizations Pharmacist Highlights:

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM EST

• Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST (4 weeks) starting 06/02/2025

• Remote Position – Must be licensed in North Carolina but can reside in any state

• Contract Duration: 06/02/2025 - 12/01/2025

• Location: Raleigh, NC

• This role is not patient-facing

Prior Authorizations Pharmacist Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and review prior authorization requests, ensuring coverage determinations align with clinical criteria and plan design

• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, interpret clinical guideline criteria, and consult with physicians and other healthcare providers

• Ensure timely and efficient communication of case decisions to healthcare providers, health plans, patients, and other professionals

• Collaborate with technicians and prior authorization team members to process referrals, collect clinical/medical data, and answer inquiries

• Manage inbound and outbound calls with technicians, providers, and patients to facilitate prior authorization requests and resolve escalations

• Maintain technical knowledge of drug and disease states for both Specialty and Non-Specialty Pharmacy programs

• Perform additional duties as assigned, including attending training sessions and providing on-call/after-hours pharmacist support as needed

Prior Authorizations Pharmacist Requirements:

• Active, unencumbered Pharmacist license in North Carolina

• Minimum 2 years’ experience reviewing and processing prior authorizations against health plan criteria in a specialty/skilled clinical setting (e.g., specialty medical office or Pharmacy Benefits Manager - PBM)

• Proficiency with computer systems, including multitasking, navigating multiple systems, and using Windows-based applications

• Experience with clinical resources such as Micromedex, Lexicomp, and Clinical Pharmacology

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to handle high-volume phone calls from pharmacy technicians and providers regarding clinical information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a call center, clinical pharmacy, or prior authorization setting

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
