Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Southfield, MI

Pay Rate: $35.00 - $37.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts: 7 PM – 7:30 AM

  • 3 days per week

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide care for patients with heart and lung conditions, including asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, and sleep apnea. The therapist will assess patients, develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, and administer respiratory therapies to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.

  • Perform diagnostic tests like lung capacity measurements.

  • Administer treatments such as chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications.

  • Recommend proper positioning for optimal breathing.

  • Monitor and document treatment progress.

  • Educate patients, families, and staff on respiratory treatments and symptoms of distress.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

  • Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (MI license required).

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a respiratory care setting.

  • Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, ability to stay composed under pressure, and familiarity with all age groups’ respiratory needs.

  • Certifications: BLS/ACLS from the American Heart Association.
