Location: Home-based with frequent field travel (NW PA Region)
- Travel required within:Clearfield, Jefferson, Elk, Cameron, Potter, McKean, Forest, Clarion, Butler, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Warren, Crawford, and Erie counties.
Hourly Pay: $27.00/hour (W2)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Fri. 8:00am-4:30pm
Overview
We are hiring for a Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Regional Program Specialist. This role focuses on community outreach, education, and one-on-one beneficiary assistance to help prevent, detect, and report Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse. You’ll also support program reporting/compliance, analyze program data, and help recruit/train/manage volunteers across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver group education and 1:1 assistance to Medicare beneficiaries, families, and caregivers
- Conduct community outreach (virtual and in-person) and raise SMP awareness
- Research and analyze program data/trends and help develop recommendations for improvements
- Document outreach/interactions and complex cases in the SMP database following reporting standards
- Support complex casework related to billing errors, suspected fraud/abuse, and appropriate referrals
- Recruit, onboard, train, and manage volunteers; help secure outreach opportunities for volunteers
- Complete required trainings (SMP foundations/outreach/complex interactions/counselor training, annual privacy/confidentiality training)
- Travel up to ~50% of business hours within the assigned region
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, social work, public health, or related field (or equivalent experience/training considered)
- 2+ years professional experience in human services (research, outreach, social services, etc.)
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the Northwest PA region
- Experience in a statewide human services program
- Experience with volunteer recruitment/onboarding/management
- Knowledge of human services administration/program operations
