Position: SharePoint Developer
Detroit, MI

As a SharePoint Developer, you will be responsible for configuring and customizing SharePoint systems according to company specifications, building scalable web applications, writing and modifying code and debugging software. You will also support individual development needs that may arise across the IT group. Coordination across the group will be critical.
Position Summary
- Manage day-to-day work with a large amount of autonomy, only requiring direction on more complex issues
- Be recognized as a reliable, knowledgeable resource for SharePoint
- Understand our Business and IT strategy, and how your role supports this
- Responsible for SharePoint design & development, supporting both the implementation of new and existing components including: the intranet, department sites, and others
- Participate in all phases of the systems development life cycle: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and on-going support
- Ability to effectively interact with various levels of technologists and legal professionals for devising an effective solution to meet business requirements
- Works closely with product owner, business partners and technology personnel to understand requirements and translate those to timely and effective solutions based on appropriate technologies
- Improve collaboration around and the management of unstructured information by applying enterprise content management, information architecture and records management principles to the SharePoint environment
- Support external integrations into SharePoint for the purpose of using SharePoint as a source of record for key company information assets
- Provides direct and indirect technical expertise and direction when needed for support of our employees using SharePoint and related technologies
- Participates in projects for task/activity planning and definition with other IT personnel or business areas as a technical resource by providing feedback or input to the project tasks and timelines
- Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user level documentation
- Inherit legacy programming, reverse engineer, analyze, troubleshoot, and fix script problems
Key Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office
- Ability to solve complex software issues
- BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required
- 5+ years demonstrable experience
- Law Firm Experience is beneficial
- Strong understanding of SDLC lifecycle and phases of development
- Experience using various programming languages such as Python, PHP, ASP, Microsoft Studio.Net, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML, XHTML, PowerShell, JavaScript, JQuery, Use Case specifications, Microsoft SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SharePoint
- Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI
- Experience with Microsoft Teams
- Experience working with API’s for iManage, Zoom, Westlaw, and other legal specific solutions is highly beneficial
- Familiarity with RPA is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse group of professionals in close cooperation
- High accuracy and attention to detail required
- Ability to implement effective, efficient, and functional solutions
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Ability to work with limited supervision, proven problem-solving abilities, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multitask and handle working under pressure and time sensitive deadlines
