Job Description
Location: Detroit, MI (Role begins onsite for the first month before transitioning to a Hybrid Schedule)

We are seeking a forward-thinking Sr. Accountant with a passion for innovation. This Senior Accountant role will serve as a member of the Controller Team, and will play a critical role in the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across our organization and assist them in optimizing their accounting processes. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to;
- Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to define and realize functionality that provides operational improvements, gaining an understanding of company accounting routines at the operational and regulatory levels
- Working within a team to develop options and solutions for the ERP, support the delivery of training, and assist in the testing and validation of working test models
- Maintaining project documentation in accordance with project management guidelines
- Maintaining and updating system documentation
- Performing related duties, as required
- 3+ years of accounting experience (A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations, journal entry preparation, financial statement reporting, etc.), with an excellent understanding of accounting software
- Proficient skills in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.
- Experience with SAP General Ledger
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to assure financial system design and configurations meet principles and are in compliance with financial regulations
- A deep understanding of accounting, finance, and tax-related areas, including the ability to support solutions and the development of high-quality requirements; broad understanding of monthly and annual closing and reporting processes
- Prior experience with ERP accounting system implementations, preferably Workday Financials
- Ability to manage large data sets, investigate variances, and prepare a variety of reports
- Strong knowledge of project management tools and procedures
- Demonstrated effective communication skills among team members, management, sponsors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle; ability to work well with others in a collaborative spirit
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks and manage competing priorities effectively and independently, while delivering results and delivering to deadlines
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with the Workday platform preferred
- A minimum of an Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or other relevant Finance/Accounting Certifications highly preferred
