Summary
As a Staff Pharmacist, you’ll be responsible for safe, compliant medication dispensing and day-to-day pharmaceutical care. You will supervise Pharmacy Technicians, check technician work in accordance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements, and verify prescriptions prior to dispensing. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who can prioritize quickly, stay precise under volume, and communicate clearly with patients and prescribers.
Responsibilities (Staff Pharmacist)
- Provide day-to-day pharmaceutical care and medication management support
- Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and ensure compliant workflow and productivity
- Perform final verification and check all technician work per regulations and policy
- Review prescriptions prior to dispensing; resolve questionable prescriptions and clarify with prescribers as needed
- Communicate with patients, clinics, healthcare providers, and prescribers
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and inventory control aligned with pharmacy regulations and quality standards
- Maintain required continuing education (CE) to keep licensure active
- Support order processing and shipping workflow coordination as needed
- Follow all documentation, quality, and compliance requirements in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacist license (required)
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy (or foreign pharmacy graduate)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment
- Experience supervising or guiding Pharmacy Technicians (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and professional judgment
