- Minimum: $84,538
- Midpoint: $109,900
- Maximum: $135,262

Position Overview
A respected healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Staff Radiation Therapist to support high-quality radiation oncology services in a collaborative clinical environment. The Staff Radiation Therapist plays a vital role in safely administering radiation therapy treatments, maintaining advanced treatment equipment, and ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely using advanced treatment machines and CT simulation systems
- Rotate across therapy machines and simulators, performing all assigned procedures efficiently and in accordance with established protocols
- Generate and maintain electronic treatment charts based on physician prescriptions and computerized treatment plans
- Accurately document daily treatments, patient data, and billing information in electronic medical records
- Ensure strict compliance with radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and self
- Apply clinical knowledge of radiation therapy techniques, treatment rationale, and oncology principles
- Collaborate with physicians, medical physicists, and dosimetrists to ensure accurate dose delivery, field setup, and use of beam-modifying devices
- Monitor treatment equipment performance and assist with quality assurance, calibration, and commissioning activities
- Prepare and educate patients prior to treatment; monitor patient condition and comfort throughout therapy sessions
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and escalate clinical concerns as appropriate
- Support the clinical training and supervision of radiation therapy students
- Maintain current licensure, certifications, and professional competencies
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and professional treatment environment
- Participate in annual performance benchmarks and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an American Medical Association–accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Active Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist license
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of professional experience in radiation therapy
- Experience working with Varian radiation therapy equipment
- Certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation safety
- Technical expertise in radiation oncology treatment delivery
- Excellent critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
