Stationary Engineer 2 Compensation
- The pay for this position is between $43-45/hr
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday (or as required by rotating shifts)
- Lead and provide work direction and training to lower-level powerhouse workers or inmates in the installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of powerhouse equipment, including boilers, furnaces, stokers, turbines, blowers, pumps, generators, fans, and pollution control equipment.
- Conduct rounds of the powerhouse, reading gauges, adjusting equipment, and observing the operation of machinery.
- Start, stop, and change over generating equipment as needed, ensuring continuous operation.
- Maintain accurate logs, recording gauge readings, fuel consumption, and power generation.
- Keep records of work performed, time cards, and related documentation.
- Maintain the security of inmates (if working in a correctional facility setting).
- Oversee and/or perform regular maintenance of the powerhouse area and surrounding facilities.
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and readiness for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Stationary Steam Engineer License pursuant to Section 4104.19, Revised Code, is required.
- At least 6 months of experience as a licensed stationary engineer.
- Strong knowledge of powerhouse safety practices and stationary engineering.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot powerhouse equipment effectively.
- Ability to calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to complete routine forms and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work effectively as a lead worker and establish a friendly atmosphere in the workplace.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, bend for long periods, and lift up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to work in noisy, dirty, dusty, and high-temperature environments, with occasional exposure to chemicals and confined spaces.
- Ability to work rotating days, shifts, weekends, and flexible hours as required.
- Experience working in a correctional facility or similar environment with inmate supervision.
- Additional certifications in stationary engineering or related fields.
