Stationary Engineer Compensation
- The pay for this position is $45.00 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Stationary Engineer Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
Stationary Engineer Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead worker, providing direction, guidance, and training to lower-level powerhouse workers and/or inmates (in correctional facility settings) in the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment
- Perform routine inspections of powerhouse equipment, including boilers, furnaces, turbines, blowers, pumps, generators, and fans. Start, stop, and adjust equipment as needed to ensure proper functioning
- Make rounds of the powerhouse, reading gauges, adjusting settings, and observing equipment operations
- Maintain logs of readings, fuel consumption, power generated, and other operational metrics. Document work performed, time cards, and other relevant records
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies required for powerhouse operations, ensuring timely replenishment and availability of critical materials
- Adhere to safety practices and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- In a correctional facility, ensure security and supervision of inmates while maintaining focus on operational efficiency
- Oversee and/or perform maintenance on the surrounding area of the powerhouse to ensure cleanliness and safety in the workspace
Stationary Engineer Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must hold a Stationary Steam Engineer License pursuant to Section 4104.19, Revised Code
- At least 6 months of experience as a licensed stationary engineer or in a related role involving the operation and maintenance of powerhouse equipment
- Knowledge of powerhouse safety practices and stationary engineering.
- Ability to operate and maintain complex equipment in a power plant setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership and training.
- Ability to understand procedures, perform basic mathematical calculations, and complete routine documentation
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
