Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician Compensation
- The pay for this position is $24.45 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with potential overtime
Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities
- Perform sterile compounding, including TPN preparation using a Pinnacle Compounder
- Work under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to fill IV prescriptions and prepackage medications
- Maintain compliance with USP <797> standards and all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations
- Assist in maintaining accurate patient and prescription records
- Support pharmacy billing functions by entering data into the computer system
- Maintain cleanroom and equipment calibration logs; ensure aseptic conditions are met at all times
- Assist with receiving, rotating, and tracking inventory, including posting lot numbers and expiration dates
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to uphold a clean and safe work environment
Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician Requirements
- Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License – Required
- Sterile Compounding Experience – Required
- Ability to Create TPNs Using Pinnacle Compounder – Required
- Must pass aseptic technique validation and fingertip testing before beginning work
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with USP <797> sterile compounding standards
- Strong attention to detail and reliability in a fast-paced environment
