Title: Systems Engineer II – Server Infrastructure Engineer

Pay Rate: $39.91/hr

Location: San Diego, CA (1-day onsite, 4-days remote Hybrid Schedule)

Schedule: Standard business hours; periodic evening and/or weekend work to support maintenance and on-call rotation duties required

The Server Infrastructure Engineer for global data center operations reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager and will be responsible for providing ongoing support of IT systems, including internal and external environments involving client support, server support, and user management. Ideal candidates for this role will possess depth and understanding of cloud and virtualization computing technologies. This is a senior engineering position, but may still require the engineer to perform desktop or end user workstation support. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

• Providing Azure, AWS, and VMware virtual infrastructure creation and administration
• Setting up, deploying, and performing system and network administration of Windows servers, and possibly Linux servers, based on experience.
• Configuring and maintaining Windows Group Policies
• Administering user accounts on Active Directory
• Performing backup and recovery administration
• Conducting virus scanner administration and patch management administration on servers
• Updating technical documentation
• Assisting with maintaining hardware warranty statuses and software licensing, keeping licensing status current
• Providing help desk incident response and change management for internal Tier 2 and higher customers through helpful Interfacing
• Maintaining and supporting the training environment
• Evaluating new technologies and recommending future direction; assisting in establishing requirements, methods, and procedures, as well as occasionally working with vendors to implement 3rd party solutions

Position Requirements:

• 4+ years of relevant IT experience, including operations experience in a 24x7 environment
• Experience with VMware and/or vCenter
• Experience with Terraform/Cloud
• Experience with IT security compliance and upgrades/scheduling upgrades
• Experience working in a DevOps environment
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills
• Ability to work effectively with a team of IT professionals within a global organization structure, including the ability to work with little or no supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong detail orientation and work ethic
• Ability to work periodic evenings and weekends to support maintenance and on-call rotation duties
• Experience with Azure Cloud preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business, or other related field preferred
