Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN / LPN)  Compensation
  • The pay for this position is $27.00 per hour
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN / LPN)  Highlights
  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • The required availability for this position is orientation is almost 6 weeks Mon-Fri on 8-5.
    • We are looking for LVN’s to help on the 7p-7a shift.
    •  Rotating weekends, set pattern when you come out of orientation
Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN / LPN)  Responsibilities
  • Performs advanced vocational nursing work.
  • Provides for the care treatment and general welfare of individuals residing at the San Antonio Hospital who have complex medical mental health and/or behavioral health issues.
  •  
  • Performs basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote the health of the individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shifts.
  • Collects specimens for lab work and perform health screenings.
  • Instructs direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support the individuals’ medical needs.
  • Performs technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
  • Keeps informed of and follows all agency SSLC and unit/home policies and procedures.
  • Provides direction and assistance with on-the-job training to others such as newly hired LVNs and direct care staff.
  • Provides on-the-job nursing instruction and training for new LVNs within their scope of practice as requested by RN Supervisor.
  • Monitors and oversees the work of LVNs and assigns work to LVNs as needed. bull Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes and provides input to other members of the healthcare team.
  • Assists RNs with the implementation of protocols procedures and programs to improve the overall health and safety of staff and individuals.
  • Works under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse RN with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN / LPN) Requirements
  • Must be licensed LVN and able to practice in Texas.
  •  Preferably 1 years as a direct care nurse.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN / LPN) Preferred Qualifications
  • Charge nurse or supervisory experience is preferred.
