WAREHOUSE OPERATOR/MATERIAL HANDLER | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Canaan CT 06018 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $23/hr
- Required Availability: Full-Time | 7am to 7pm
WAREHOUSE OPERATOR/MATERIAL HANDLER | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Warehouse Operator/Material Handler will support shipping and warehouse operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves moving materials, loading trailers, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
WAREHOUSE OPERATOR/MATERIAL HANDLER | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load trailers and move materials using forklifts and other warehouse equipment
- Move trailers in and out of shipping docks as needed
- Operate a floor stretch wrapper (training provided)
- Transport raw materials, parts, and finished goods throughout the warehouse
- Maintain accurate inventory and material records
- Follow standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines
- Work independently while meeting productivity goals
- Assist with general warehouse and shipping operations as assigned
WAREHOUSE OPERATOR/MATERIAL HANDLER | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- 1+ year of warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or related experience
- Forklift experience
- Shipping and receiving experience preferred
- Semi-truck or trailer moving experience is a plus
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Basic math and computer skills
- Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment
- Able to lift and move 20+ pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift
- Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision
