WEEKEND MATERIAL HANDLER - FORKLIFT | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:

  • Location: Madison GA 30650 – 100% On-site
  • Payrate: $16.50/hr
  • Required Availability: Full-Time | Friday to Sunday, 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM (36 hours per week)

WEEKEND MATERIAL HANDLER - FORKLIFT | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:

The Weekend Material Handler will be responsible for unloading inbound shipments, managing inventory via scanners, and preparing specialized sterilization loads.

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

WEEKEND MATERIAL HANDLER - FORKLIFT | RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inbound Logistics: Unload trucks, verify catalog/lot numbers and quantities, and stack boxes according to specific pallet patterns.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate stand-up forklifts and hand trucks to locate materials into racks and bin locations.
  • Sterilization Support: Assemble sterilization loads according to diagrams and place biological indicators (spores) within the loads.
  • Data Management: Utilize IBM Data Collection scanners to complete JD Edwards transactions and initiate load record documentation.
  • Safety & Compliance: Exercise safe lifting techniques and maintain a clean work area in accordance with Quality System Regulations.

WEEKEND MATERIAL HANDLER - FORKLIFT | REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
  • Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
  • 2+ years of experience operating material handling equipment, with a strong preference for stand-up forklift experience.
  • Certifications: Must be certified to operate a forklift and pass a site-specific Lift Drivers Test.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Good logic and reasoning to resolve daily operational issues.
  • Proficiency in Basic English (reading, writing, and verbal instructions).

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical Ability: Regularly required to lift and move up to 30 pounds. Position requires frequent bending, lifting, turning, and prolonged standing.
  • Environment: The warehouse can be hot and humid. You may work near moving mechanical parts, high places, and in areas involving specialized sterilization gases or chemicals.
  • Health & Safety: Must be free of health conditions that prohibit heavy lifting or pulling.
