A-Line Staffing is now hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses in San Antonio, TXThe LVN would be working for a Fortune 500 company and has career growth potential. This would be full time / 40+ hours per week.

LVN Compensation:

  • The pay for this position is $25 per hour
    Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
    A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

LVN Highlights

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • The required availability for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm (staying late until 6 pm one day of the week)
    No weekends, call, or major holidays

LVN Responsibilities:

  • Provides general nursing care to patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during examination and procedures.
  • Observes, records, and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • Administers prescribed medications as directed.
  • Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of specimen samples for testing.
  • Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Performs EKG and oximetry readings as required by physician.
  • Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
  • Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
  • Maintains patient files, records, and other information.
  • Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the LPN/LVN will have the following background and experience: 
Level 1 

  • Must have 1+ Years' Experience as an LVN involving WOUND CARE
  • High school graduate or equivalent.   
  • Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.   
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.   
  • Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.   
  • Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire. 

Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements) 

  • This position requires at least 3 years experience as a practical nurse. 

Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements) 

  • Requires a minimum of five years experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.  
  • Current CPR certification required.
