A-Line Staffing is now hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses in San Antonio, TX. The LVN would be working for a Fortune 500 company and has career growth potential. This would be full time / 40+ hours per week.

LVN Compensation

The pay for this position is $23-$25 per hour
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
LVN Highlights

This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
The required availability for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm (staying late until 6 pm one day of the week)
No weekends, call, or major holidays
LVN Responsibilities

  • · Provides general nursing care to patients.
  • · Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • · Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during examination and procedures.
  • · Observes, records, and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • · Administers prescribed medications as directed.
  • · Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of specimen samples for testing.
  • · Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • · Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • · Performs EKG and oximetry readings as required by physician.
  • · Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
  • · Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
  • · Maintains patient files, records, and other information.
  • · Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.

Job Requirements

LVN Requirements

  • Active LVN/LPN license
  • Active BLS certification
  • 1+ years’ experience as a practical nurse
  • 1+ years’ experience with wound care
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

LVN Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy experience preferred
